Lab-at-Home: Hands-On Green Analytical Chemistry Laboratory for New Normal Experimentation

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced analytical chemistry educators in Thailand to change methods of teaching and learning new normal ones. Higher education faced additional challenges because a lack hands-on experiments an increasing number students foundation courses being hindered from practicing skills. This work aimed develop Lab-at-Home (LAH) for normal, experimentation. LAH implemented green experiment, i.e., colorimetric determination iron using non-hazardous reagents (supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12-responsible consumption production). was sent at their location before the synchronous class, where instructors were prompt supervise. Thus, this supports SDG4-quality SDG10-reduced inequalities. outcome achievements, characteristics colorimetry principles comprehension, as well ability perform data analysis, evaluated by quiz laboratory report. satisfaction assessed questionnaire focus group discussion. outcomes successfully achieved, although who performed experiment individually received higher scores than those did groups. Students very satisfied with tool experimentation, yet some poor Internet connection during online class.
